Ownership type of the leading ship owners and operators worldwide 2020
This statistic shows the ownership type of the leading 20 ship companies worldwide as of 2020. With regards to ship owners, 35% of them are from the public sector, 30% are state-owned, and 35% are private. In the case of operators/charterers, roughly half of them are public, 20% state-owned, and one in four are from the private sector.
