Device usage on English farms by size 2019

During a survey among farming holdings in England in October of 2019, it was found that approximately ten percent of responding small holdings (farms with a Standard Labor Requirement of less than two) did not use any computers, smartphones or tablets. The use of desktop and laptop computers was most widespread among large responding holdings with 95 percent of such holdings stating that they use these kinds of devices.
A trend can be seen that the larger holdings were the more likely they were to use any type of electronic devices, this was also true for all specific types of devices.

'Farm size
This is based on the estimated labor requirements for the farm (not its land area). Standard Labor Requirement (SLR) is defined as the theoretical number of workers required each year to run a farm, based on its cropping and livestock activities. The farm size bands used are Small (less than 2 SLR), Medium (2 to less than 3 SLR) and Large (3 or more SLR).'
