China: COVID-19 impact on hotel personnel's income 2020

According to the survey conducted among more than 600 lodging enterprises in China, nearly 60 percent of the hotel primary-level employees' income was affected by coronavirus outbreak. About 24 percent of hotel staff received only basic salary, while 14 percent earned only minimum payment as of February 2020.

91 percent hotels, 6 percent guesthouses, and 3 percent apartment hotels;
32 percent five-star hotels or equivalent, 22 percent four-star hotels or equivalent, 19 percent three-star hotels or equivalent, and 27 percent budget hotels;
43 percent non-eco hotels and 57 percent eco hotels;
66 percent non-chain hotels, 12 percent domestic chained-brand hotels, and 22 percent international chained-brand hotels.
