Gross value of wheat produced in South Africa 2000-2019
As of 2019, the preliminary gross value of wheat produced in South Africa amounted to around 6.12 billion South African Rands (which is equivalent to nearly 421 million U.S. Dollar). This presents a decrease of approximately 13.3 percent compared to 2018. Between 2000 and 2019, an upward trend with an overall increase of roughly 137 percent was observed. The major drops during this timespan between 2003 and 2005, 2009 and 2010 as well as in 2017 are probably linked to the droughts existing in these periods.
