Unemployment rate in France from February to May 2020, by age and gender
The Covid-19 crisis did not have the same impact by age and gender. In fact, in February 2020, the unemployment rate for the under 25 year olds was at 18.7 percent, three months later the rate had reached 21.2 percent. This is the category that has seen the biggest increase.
Women have also been more affected by the crisis with an increase of 0.7 points between February and May 2020. The unemployment rate for men increased by 0.2 points over the same period.
