University enrollment in Kenya 2016-2022, by gender

There were 562 thousand students enrolled in universities in Kenya during the academic year 2021/22. The number increased from roughly 546 thousand in 2020/21. The gender distribution showed that there were more students who were men enrolled in tertiary education, approximately 334 thousand, while females were 227 thousand.
