Price index of grain sorghum in South Africa 2001-2019
In the calendar year 2019, the price index of grain sorghum in South Africa amounted to 197.7 points. This was an increase of 3.9 percent compared to the preceding year. Between 2001 and 2019, the lowest price index was in 2005 at 30 points, whereas in 2016 the index of grain sorghum was at its highest amounting to 223.3 points. The drought, which occurred between 2015 to 2017, could probably be linked to the price index's highest level.
