Export volume of grain sorghum from South Africa 2000-2020
In the marketing year 2019/2020, the preliminary export volume of grain sorghum in South Africa amounted to ten thousand metric tons. This illustrates a ten percent increase from the previous year. Between 2000 and 2020 an overall negative trend can be observed, with a comprehensive decrease of 75 percent. However, three peaks in the volume of exports can be seen in 2002/2003, 2009/2010, and 2015/2016. The drops from these peaks in the subsequent years can possibly be linked to lower rain levels.
