South Africa: export volume of sunflower seeds 2000-2021

In 2020/2021, the export volume of sunflower seeds in South Africa was 550 metric tons, a decrease of roughly 3.5 percent from 2019/2020. Between 2000 and 2021, two years are observed to have significantly larger export volumes; 2002/2003 and 2008/2009. It is unclear why these peaks are present in the data. However, note that in 2008 Europe was the largest importer of sunflower seed in South Africa with up to approximately 60 thousand of the total 79.4 thousand that were exported.
