Distribution of couples' spending on wedding ceremonies and parties in Japan 2022
According to a survey conducted in 2022, around 12.6 percent of newly married respondents in Japan spent three million to 3.5 million Japanese yen on wedding ceremonies and receptions or parties, which was the most common amount of spending. Approximately two percent spent more than six million yen on a wedding. In Japan, it is common to hold a reception or a party (or both) on the same day as a wedding ceremony.
