Indonesia: preferred staple food to be subsidized during COVID-19 2020

According to a survey on what the government should allocate their budget for to ease the COVID-19 pandemic impact, 83.6 percent of Indonesian respondents stated that they wanted the government to provide financial relief measures for rice. Rice is the staple grain in Indonesia and, according to the same survey, around 23 percent of respondents found that the price of rice had increased during the pandemic.
