According to a survey conducted in 2019, food and wine tourism in Italy was particularly popular in the South and the Islands. Data showed that more than a half of domestic tourists from this macro-region claimed to have travelled for reasons of food and wine tourism in 2019. By contrast, only 39 percent of respondents from the North-East stated the same.
