Gross value of sugar cane produced in South Africa 2000-2022
In the production year 2021/2022, the preliminary gross production value of sugar cane in South Africa amounted to nearly 11.1 billion South African rands (around 650 million U.S. dollars). As of the preceding production year, the gross value was roughly at 11.14 billion rands (approximately 651.6 million U.S. dollars). Throughout the last two decades, the gross value increased rapidly in the country, although the production volume of sugar cane followed a declining trend. This can be attributed to an increase in producer prices.
