Since March 17, 2020 and the beginning of the lockdown, several solutions have been implemented in the healthcare sector in France. However, while the number of medical teleconsultations has increased, it appears that the consumption of French people for general healthcare has declined. Indeed, the savings made by mutual health insurers in the Île-de-France region during the lockdown were estimated at 146.5 million euros for the period from March 17 to May 11.

The source adds the following information: "To estimate the savings made by mutual health insurance companies during containment, we worked with our 24 complementary insurance partners, who provided us anonymously with an estimate of claims for the period from March 17 to May 11, 2020 on a total of 1,876,981 policyholders. By comparing the reductions obtained on the various health posts with the usual amount of benefits provided by private health insurance companies in recent years, we were able to estimate the savings they made during the 55 days of confinement."
