Retail economic activity growth Argentina 2020-2021

The economic activity of the retail and trade sector in Argentina registered negative year-on-year growth rates from January 2020 to May 2021. The steepest decline was registered right after the COVID-19 outbreak, in April, with an economic activity decrease of approximately 26 percent. In June 2020, this sector seemed to have started a slow recovery, but the following months saw slightly higher declines. The Brazilian retail sector has also been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
