From August 2018 to August 2019, it was found that among both global brands and SMBs, unbranded searches accounted for the majority of consumer searches but results still vary by company size. For global brands, 58 percent of search was unbranded, meaning that during the remaining 42 percent of online searches, customers already had a particular brand or product in mind. For small and medium sized businesses, the more than four fifths of search was unbranded.
