Japan: weekly annual growth of Airbnb bookings in Kyoto 2020

According to data provided by Airbtics.com, Airbnb bookings in Kyoto Prefecture declined by almost 76 percent in the week of August 23, 2020 compared to the same period in the previous year. The annual growth rate in Airbnb bookings processed in 2020 shrank significantly from February onwards due to the gradual enforcement of travel restrictions amid the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Data is based on the review data scraped by Airbtics from Airbnb.com between September 7 to 22, 2020. Limitation: 80-95% of active listings.

"Active listing" here means a listing that has its first review before 2019 April and its last review after 2020 March, so that the booking difference between 2019 and 2020 can be compared in a more fair way.
