In the wake of a recommendation made by the World Health Organization (WHO), variations of the slogan "5 A Day" have been developed for national campaigns in various countries, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. These campaigns aim at encouraging populations to eat a minimum of five portions of fruits and vegetables per day.
In 2019, over 50 percent of French people did not eat the recommended five portions a day.
