Gross value of guavas in South Africa 2000-2018

As of 2017/2018, the preliminary gross value of guavas in South Africa amounted to roughly 65 million South African Rands (this is comparable to 3.77 million U.S. dollars), which represented a decrease of 30.6 percent from 2016/2017. The gross value of this agricultural product followed a growing trend throughout the observed period, with a comprehensive increase of around 240 percent. However, despite the growing trend, two drops can be noticed in 2011/2012 and 2013/2014 at 20.5 percent and 1.6 percent respectively. These drops in gross value corresponded to falls in the production volume of guavas.
