According to a recent survey report, around 85.4 percent of respondents in the Philippines were mainly concerned that ASEAN could become an arena of major power and competition and its member states may become proxies for the interest of a major power. However, the majority of overall respondents from ASEAN countries believe that tangible benefits are not felt by the people.
