In 2021, 53.1 percent of the motor vehicles produced in Japan were standard passenger cars. Overall, 86.3 percent of the motor vehicles produced in Japan were passenger cars. In 2021, the value of passenger cars produced by the automotive industry in Japan amounted to approximately 14.48 trillion Japanese yen.
