Domestic air carriers boarded 6.6 million passengers in Russia in May 2022, marking a notable increase from the previous month. In 2020, the monthly passenger count decreased significantly due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The numbers reached their lowest point in April 2020, when Russian airlines carried only 700 thousand passengers.
