French consumers' online and offline purchasing paths for car insurance in 2015
A few decades ago, people in France who wanted to subscribe to a car insurance policy were forced to get information and to follow a purchasing process in a physical location. Nowadays, it is possible for them to follow a purchasing path that includes the use of the Internet. For example, while a third of French people who had taken out car insurance at the time of the survey did so in a physical agency, 20 percent of the respondents had followed a purchasing process completely online. The French can also choose to inform themselves online beforehand and then make a purchase in an agency (ROPO, online research, offline purchase), which was the case for 47 percent of the people surveyed.
