Number of cruise passengers arriving in Malta 2019-2022, by age
The number of cruise passengers arriving in Malta rose significantly in 2022 over the previous year, after falling dramatically with the of onset the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, passengers aged 40 to 59 accounted for the highest number of arrivals in 2022, with roughly 171 thousand cruise passengers within this age group visiting the Mediterranean island. While this figure shows a sharp increase from 2021, it remained below the volume reported in 2019, when around 243 thousand passengers aged 40 to 59 visited Malta. In 2022, the number of cruise passengers arriving in Malta totaled nearly 490 thousand.
