Share of domestic waste discharged at waste stations Japan 2021, by type
As of December 2021, paper waste accounted for close to 34 percent of the domestic waste that was discharged at waste stations in Japan. Kitchen waste followed, accounting for about 28 percent of the discharged waste. In Japan, the majority of the domestic waste was processed by incineration.
