Coronavirus deaths in Africa as of September 20, 2020, by country

As of September 20, 2020, the overall deaths due to coronavirus (COVID-19) in Africa reached 34,008. South Africa faced the highest number of casualties. With 15,953 deaths, the country accounted for 46.9 percent of the total fatalities in the continent. Egypt was the second most affected, as the virus made 5,770 victims in the nation, nearly 17 percent of the overall deaths in Africa. Morocco accounted for around 5.4 percent of the casualties in the continent, with 1,830 victims. By the same date, Africa recorded more than 1.41 million cases of COVID-19.
