The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic hit hardly the tourism industry worldwide, as several countries had to impose national lockdowns and restrict non-essential travels in order to limit the spread of the outbreak. In Italy, according to a survey involving 81 hotel facilities, it is expected that the international MICE segment will be the slowest to recover in the hotel industry. Data show that 74 percent of the survey sample expected that the international segment of meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions will be unlikely to recover soon once the pandemic will be over. About six in ten respondents thought the same of the international corporate segment, while slightly more positive expectations were recorded for the Leisure FIT segment.
In you opinion, which of the main international segments of the hotel industry in Italy are expected to recover once the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is over?
