U.S. ridership on heavy rail services

U.S. heavy rail passengers completed around 166,400 unlinked trips in March 2020. Passenger trips on heavy-rail services in the United States increased by over 13 percent year-over-year in January and February 2020. Following the outbreak of Covid-19 in the United States, ridership fell on these rail services in March 2020, when passenger trips dropped by almost 50 percent, compared with March 2019.
