In fiscal year 2021, household carbon dioxide emissions per household in Japan amounted to more than 3.7 thousand kilograms of carbon dioxide. While figures reached a decade-high of 5.3 thousand kilograms in fiscal year 2012, the household carbon dioxide emissions have been steadily decreasing in the years since.
