Reasons behind increased consumption of pasta during lockdown in France 2020

During the lockdown implemented by the government, people were asked to limit their outings to the bare minimum as a way to slow down the spread of the virus (COVID-19). As a result, people often altered their consumption habits: 28 percent of the French population increased their pasta intake during this period for instance. More than half of the respondents explain that their main reason to do so was to avoid going to the supermarket. The fact that pasta is easy to cook and is budget-friendly was also mentioned by over 40 percent of people.
