Universal suffrage in Morocco 1940-2021
In 2021, the legal right to vote in Morocco was set at 100 percent of the adult population. Overall, all adult citizens in the country have had the full legal right to vote since 1693. Every Moroccan citizen of age 18 years and above who is registered as a voter, and is eligible, can vote during public elections. Moreover, the multiparty system has been adopted in Morocco since its independence in 1956.
