In a 2020 survey, respondents stated that over 22 percent of trucking operations in the U.S. were long-haul in the aftermath of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which is a ten percent decrease compared to the pre-pandemic levels. In general, the survey's results suggest that there is a decrease in the average trip length of trucking in the U.S.
