
Impact of COVID-19 on stress/anxiety hospital visits Canada by scenario 2020
Based on data on the Fort McMurray wildfires, it is predicted the COVID-19 pandemic could increase the number of emergency and inpatient visits for stress/anxiety up to 134 thousand during the acute event period, and up to 71 thousand during the post disaster steady state. This statistic shows the projected number of emergency and inpatient visits for stress/anxiety related disorders during and after the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, for three scenarios, as estimated in August 2020.
