Production volume of soft drinks in Japan 2022, by category
Ready-to-drink (RTD) tea dominated the non-alcoholic beverage production in Japan, with over five million kiloliters produced in 2022. The Japanese RTD tea market encompasses a variety of mainly bottled tea drinks such as green tea, blended tea, and roasted barley tea (mugicha). Black tea, however, is considered a separate category, with a production volume of around one million kiloliters.
