In all quarters of 2020, South America was the region with the largest percentage of working hours lost due to COVID-19 in Latin America and the Caribbean. From April to June 2020, it was estimated that 35.1 percent of the total labor hours in South America were lost due to the coronavirus crisis. In all of Latin America and the Caribbean, nearly 33 percent of the total working hours were estimated to be lost in that same quarter of 2020.
