As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, a total 495 billion U.S. dollars of labor income were lost in the first three quarters of 2020 in Latin America and the Caribbean. In September 2020, it was estimated that this income reduction represented around 19 percent of the region's total labor income and over 10 percent of its GDP.
