Dominican Republic: industry & innovation development performance 2019, by indicator
The ninth objective of the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) created by the United Nations is industry, innovation, and infrastructure. In 2019, the performance of the Dominican Republic in this objective was measured based on six indicators, some of which were lagging. The country had no scientific or technical articles indexed in journals as of that year, for example. Its commercial transport infrastructure quality was on a downward trend, with a Logistics Performance Index score of 2.36, far below the top ranking countries. That same year, the Dominican Republic received a Global Innovation Index score of 28.56, down from the country's score of 29.33 a year prior.
