Suriname: industry & innovation development goal performance 2019, by indicator
Suriname's 2019 performance in the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) developed by the United Nations for industry, innovation, and infrastructure was measured based on three indicators. As of that year, nearly 49 percent of the country's population was using the internet and almost 47 percent had a mobile broadband subscription. Additionally, the amount of scientific or technical articles indexed in journals was very low, with 0.04 articles for every one thousand individuals. Along with St. Lucia, Dominica, the Bahamas, and Haiti, Suriname was reported to be home of three think tanks in 2018.
