Trinidad & Tobago: industry & innovation development performance 2019, by indicator

The United Nation's Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) related to industry, innovation, and infrastructure strives for a country's progress in technology and innovative sustainable contributions. In 2019, Trinidad and Tobago showed a moderate advancement in this objective to be reached by 2030, with over 77 percent of its population using the internet but only around 46 percent of it being subscribed to mobile broadband. On the other hand, patent applications were lagging as of that year, with just over two applications for every one million people. With a Global Innovation Index score of 28.8, Trinidad and Tobago was one of the lowest ranked countries in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2019.
