Latin America: number of public holidays 2021, by country

Colombia is one of the Latin American countries with the largest number of public holidays declared for 2021. Since the Emiliani law enacted in December 22, 1983, the South American country moves over half of the public holidays to the Monday after the official date, allowing its inhabitants to enjoy several long weekends each year. In 2021, Argentinians will celebrate 16 public holidays, placing the Southern nation as the second country with most public holidays in this list. Its neighbors, Chile and Brazil, followed with 15 days each. Brazil is also among the countries that grant the largest amount of holidays as paid leave in Latin America.
