Native Norwegian primary school pupils have higher grades than school children with different immigration backgrounds. However, the overall grades for all children regardless of background increased over the past decade and especially for pupils who immigrated to Norway. As of 2020, native Norwegian pupils scored 43.8 points, followed by Norwegian-born pupils with immigrant parents: 41.8 points. For immigrant children, the marks were slightly lower, amounting to 38.7 points. The Norwegian primary school grade system ranges from ten points to a maximum of 60 points.
