Internet penetration rate in Africa 2024, by region
As of January 2024, Southern Africa was the region with the highest internet penetration rate in Africa, at around 73 percent. Furthermore, Northern Africa had a penetration rate of 67.8 percent.The share of people using the internet in these regions of Africa was even above the world average (66.2 percent). In contrast, Middle and Eastern Africa recorded the lowest rates: 32.1 percent and 26.7 percent, respectively.
