Colombia: diabetes mellitus cases 2017, by department
In 2017, the capital city of Bogotá was home to the most cases of diabetes mellitus among the Colombian population, with about 212 thousand reported cases. The department of Vaupés had the least amount of inhabitants with the disease, namely 37 cases were reported. In 2018, the country spent over one trillion Colombian pesos of the health expenditure on diabetes.
