Annual road transport NOx emissions in London 2016-2019, by location
Between 2016 and 2019, road transport emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in London declined by an estimated 26 percent. The most noticeable reduction was in central London, where levels almost halved during this period. This significant reduction was mostly due to the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ), which was introduced in 2019.
