Monthly average prices for tilapia in Egypt 2019-2020
The monthly average price of tilapia in Egypt was 32.87 Egyptian pounds (2.09 U.S. dollars) per kilogram in July 2020, registering a drop of roughly 3.64 percent from the preceding month. Moreover, during the period under review, the fish price recorded its peak in June 2019, at 38.04 Egyptian pounds (2.42 U.S dollars) per kilogram. The trough was measured in January 2019, at 28.53 Egyptian pounds (1.81 U.S. dollars) per kilogram. It is worth noting that Egypt is by far the largest producer of tilapia fish in Africa and the world's second largest producer.
