Number of start-up investors in West Africa 2010-2019, by country
Between 2010 and 2019, most of the people who invested in start-ups in West Africa were not from the African continent. Specifically, 120 investors came from the United States, representing the main country of origin of investors. Among the 19 leading places of origin, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Mauritius, and Ghana were the only African countries with more than one MWAS investor.
