Value of non-accelerated start-up funding 2019, by industry
Between 2010 and 2019, out of around 1.6 billion U.S. dollars received through non-accelerated start-ups in West Africa, the online retail industry accounted for nearly 1.1 billion of it. The second highest amount was raised by the financial services sector, which reached 250.7 million U.S. dollars (15.3 percent of the total non-accelerated funding). Furthermore, funding received through non-accelerated West African start-ups within the given time period was more than the amount raised through accelerated start-up companies.
