In 2022, the floor area of new building construction in the manufacturing industry in Japan amounted to around ten million square meters. This represented an increase of 24.3 percent compared to the previous year. In 2018, the floor space of building construction starts in the manufacturing industry reached a peak of more than 11 million square meters.
