Annual commercial and consumer payments in Asia-Pacific 2014-2022, by product type
Consumer-based credit card transactions were worth about 20 percent of Asia-Pacific's total payments revenue in 2022, having declined since 2021. The source compares the region to the world overall: Commercial made up 53 percent of global payments revenue, compared to 47 percent for consumer payments in the same year. This distribution was different in Asia-Pacific, with commercial-driven payments making up 60 percent of overall revenue, whereas commercial payments reached 38 percent.
