Number of newspapers published in China 2013-2019
In 2019, about 31.5 billion of newspaper copies were published in China, showing a gradual decrease over the past years. In 2018, there were 1,871 types of newspapers circulated in the country. Driven by the surging smartphone and social media usage, many traditional printed media companies have entered the online news arena to compete for consumer attention.
